Typhoon (17W) Sanba is currently located approximately 700 NM south-southeast of
Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan, has tracked north-northwestward at 8 mph over the
past six hours. Maximum wave height is 30 feet.

Animated Multispectral satellite imagery reveals a 14 NM eye has developed over the past few hours as the system continues to undergo rapid intensification.
- Typhoon Sanba is expected to continue tracking north-northwestward over the next 12 hours and will continue to strengthen as upper level conditions, coupled with warm (82-86 degrees fahrenheit) sea surface temperatures persist.
